About Mark

Hi, I’m Mark, the main voice behind TrailSurvival.com.

I’m not a Navy SEAL, former spy, or wilderness guru. I’m just a guy who never quite grew out of his love for the woods. I’ve had gear fail on me, boots blow out mid-hike, and plenty of humbling moments along the way. That’s how I learned what works, and what doesn’t, when you’re miles from help.

Over the years, I’ve hiked trails across the Midwest and beyond, refining my skills and building systems that actually hold up under pressure. TrailSurvival.com is where I share what I know: the basics, the hard lessons, and the things I wish someone had told me earlier.

This site is about staying ready, thinking smart, and learning to enjoy the outdoors without needing to “go full Rambo.” Thanks for being here.
